# Programming Process
Our LGT Tags are **individually programmed** with a **unique private key per tag** that the tag then uses to generate a checksum for verification. Because each tag has a unique private key, tags need to be individually programmed.
### Pre-Programmed Tags
Legitimate provides pre-programmed tags through our manufacturer and other integration partners. For smaller amounts of tags, they may be shipped from our warehouses in Tokyo or New York City. For larger quantities, the tags will be ordered directly from our manufacturer from China.
### Tag Programming Tools
For creators and brands that wish to program tags themselves during the manufacturing process or have specific requirements including numbered editions, we can provide private access to our tag programmer apps when subscribed to our service plans.
